Cycling 8000miles, climbing to 4655m, crossing 2 deserts, 2 continents & 14 countries in winter!

In September 2012 Sam and Ollie will set off from the ancient Chinese city of Xi’an to begin their pedalling expedition. The Silk Road will take them 1300 miles to the edge of the Tien Shan Mountains and into Kazakhstan.

Once in Kazakhstan they will head south into the mountains of Kyrgyzstan and around the beautiful Issyk Kul Lake. Then heading into Tajikistan the next challenge looms ahead, the Pamir Highway; 800 miles of high mountain road, seven 3000m+ passes including the Ak-baital Pass at 4655m and temperatures plummeting to -15. Winding their way through Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and into Turkmenistan where they will cross 500 miles of the Karakum Desert.

The Silk Road will then lead them to Istanbul and out of Asia. The final leg across Europe sees Sam and Ollie pedalling into London for Spring of 2013.

This our first experience of something like setting up a website but we are doing our best.
